Hurricane Harvey created an estimated $25 – $35 billion in damages across the coast of Texas. While Med Couture was not personally affected by this devastating hurricane, they wanted to do something to help a hospital that was in need.
“The rain was relentless day after day and night after night,” Christina Warlick, MSN, RN, CCM, Director of Director of Nursing at CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont, told TNA. “Those living close to the facility were gracious and caring enough to cover for those who were not able to make it physically due to the surrounding areas flooding. Everyone truly came together to take care of our patients and each other.”
The Texas Nursing Association was a huge help during the process to find a hospital that was in need after the hurricane. They were able to locate a hospital in Beaumont, Texas that needed supplies. The CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont was the perfect match for Med Couture! TNA reached out to them and Med Couture was able to get a list of every nurse in the hospital, along with their scrub sizes and color options, and get together a huge donation of 93 sets of scrubs to send down to Beaumont!
“The aftermath of Hurricane Harvey was devastating to the men and women of CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital,” Rothschild said. “We appreciate their deep dedication, and wanted to provide a small token to show our support.”
With this donation, all of the nurses were able to be dressed to the nines in their fashion-forward scrubs by Med Couture. Warlick said the donation was “a beam of light in a dark tunnel for most of our staff. They certainly are appreciated!”
